Enhancing PLA Flexibility Through In Situ Polymerization: New Findings from PolyACT (AUTH)

By admin  Published On November 6, 2025

New insights from our partner PolyACT (AUTH) highlight advancements in enhancing PLA flexibility through in situ polymerization. Published in the Journal of Composites Science (MDPI), this study compares in situ polymerization and melt mixing methods for producing flexible poly(lactic acid) nanocomposites incorporating metal nanoparticles (Ag/Cu). The results demonstrate that in situ polymerization significantly improves the flexibility and performance of PLA-based materials, marking an important step toward the development of sustainable and flexible printed electronics.
